Vineyards between roughly 500 and 800 metres, mostly granite soils and Atlantic influence give the wines natural freshness, moderate alcohol and a distinct mineral character.
Spain · Arribes del Duero
Very old vines, endangered native varieties and a family micro-winery where the Douro becomes a border.
The producer
José Manuel Benéitez and Liliana Fernández returned to Arribes after years working close to nature and wine, restoring a family stone house in Formariz and building a small winery around old vineyards.
The project is deliberately small, preserving rare local varieties and following each vineyard and lot closely from the field to the cellar.
“Some projects do not begin with a brand. They begin with a life decision.”Cave Tirsense

Origin and vineyard

The work
Behind every bottle is a sequence of decisions made in the vineyard and the cellar. The scale remains close enough for each vintage and each lot to be followed directly, preserving the identity of the house.
