Romano Cunha in Portugal | Cave Tirsense

An exceptionally limited Portuguese project created by Mário Cunha, with winemaking by Raúl Pérez.

The producer

A rare meeting of vineyard, time and uncompromising ambition.

Romano Cunha was created to show what Trás-os-Montes can achieve when yields are kept extremely low and every decision is made without shortcuts.

The production is deliberately tiny, the ageing is patient and the distribution remains highly selective.

“True exclusivity begins when producing less becomes the condition for demanding more.”

The work

A project shaped by place, people and close attention.

Behind every bottle is a sequence of decisions made in the vineyard and the cellar. The scale remains close enough for each vintage and each lot to be followed directly, preserving the identity of the house.
